Egypt

(above & left) photos of Edfu temple and other amzing temples that seem to be scattered all along the Nile. These hierogliphics were absolutley everywhere. We evan began to be able read and understand a few of them. The days when we went these places it was about 40-45 degrees!

The Philae Temple (temple dedicated to the goddess Isis). This temple is on an island we went there at night and watched an interactive sound and light show that told the story of Isis her husband Osiris and her son Horus and all of the people who took part in the creation of this temple. Walking through this temple in these lights truely gave an eary us an eary feeling. It was very interesting seeing them in this light rather than in the extreme heat of the day. Simply Amazing.

Abu Simble was made for the Great Rameses II (another bit of remembered info) We got to go inside these tombs and the hierogliphics were amazing. Once again the sheer size of these were amazing. To get out to Abu Simble we had to have a police convoy as we drove through the dessert for 3hrs. Geographically we were 40 min from Sudan at this point.
