Life in China

We are in Beijing now, it is sooo busy, but so cool lots to see and do. We did the forbidden city the other day and then went in the little back streets on rickshaws to see the traditional culture of bejing. It is going to be so busy here when the olympics are on next year.
It was kurts birthday yesterday we went to the great wall- walked along it and it was absolutly amazing, it was a trek and a half to get there, the steps along it were so steep. Went and watched a kung fu show last night, pretty cool, the guys are so fit some of the stuff they do is just crazy- breaking concrete slabs on their bellies! We arranged for a bday cake for kurt after dinner, i think he got a little embaressed. One of the guys organised everyone to put in for kurts present and they bought him the ticket for kung fu show. It was a really great day!
I have made a list about the difference you can see in China compared to home:
1) They serve corn with their McDonalds meals
2) Men and women spit...everywhere, even on trains, resteraunts and shopping centres
3) No one drinks tea with milk
4) Babies dont wear nappies, instead they make slits in the back of their pants
5) Everyone loves Backstreet boys
6) Christmas carols are played everywhere....in July????
7) There are crosswalks on most roads, yet no driver pays any attention to them.
8) They drive on the right hand side of the road
9) Jasmine Green Tea is served with every meal
10) Everyone eats dinner food for breakfast.
We have been taught 3 letters from our tour guid. TIC (This is China) and this is exactly what the list above shows. It is awesome!
We will arrive in India on Saturday so will finally be able to access the blog, read comments and post photos.
Take Care everyone, we are thinking of you all.
Love Connie and Kurt
